We are a traditional family run rowing boat service operating across the River Blyth from Southwold to Walberswick in Suffolk.k
Our wooden rowing boats are based on the Suffolk punt design and carry up to 12 passengers at a time. Sometimes our motor launch is also used as a ferry if conditions are unsuitable for rowing, during winter, or if it is too busy that the small rowing boat cannot cope with the high volume of passengers. Opening hrs 2025 The ferry will be closed Sat 15th Nov The ferry may be closed on Thursday October 23rd due to high wind forecast. 26th October until 2nd November Daily 10am until 4pm Saturday 18th October 10 until 5 pm weather permitting. We will then just open every weekend weather permitting 11am until 3pm until 21st December. Open daily again 27th December until 1st January 11 until 3pm. we will then close for the season until Easter (dates to be confirmed) We do update the website daily in case we have to close for adverse weather. We run on demand so will just take you across when you turn up, no need to book. Prices Adults £2 Children under 18 £1 Under 5's free Bikes £2 Dogs welcome Buggies and pushchairs welcome too prices are for a single crossing Sorry but we cannot take card payment so cash only. These times can change occasionally due to extreme weather and tide conditions. Fully licensed by East Suffolk Council Find us down at the harbour at Southwold or Walberswick. From Southwold drive or walk down ferry road and we are a short walk from the harbour mouth.
